New bug in v8 FP5 DB2 IMPORT command?

aj
Red Hat Linux AS 2.1
DB2 WSE 8.1 FP5

I installed FP5 on my v8 server this weekend, and I think I
have found a new bug in the DB2 IMPORT command.

Previously, I would issue a SET SCHEMA command, then issue an
IMPORT command, specifying "INTO <table>" without an explicit
schema, ie:

SET SCHEMA <schema>
IMPORT FROM <file> OF DEL MODIFIED BY coldel| decpt.
COMMITCOUNT 500 MESSAGES <msgfile> INSERT INTO <table>

If I do this now (after FP5), I get
Number of rows read = 0
Number of rows skipped = 0
Number of rows inserted = 0
Number of rows updated = 0
Number of rows rejected = 0
Number of rows committed = 0
****and the <msgfile> is empty and zero-length*****

But if I explicitly specify a schema, ie
IMPORT FROM <file> OF DEL MODIFIED BY coldel| decpt.
COMMITCOUNT 500 MESSAGES <msgfile> INSERT INTO <schema>.<table>
Then it works.

IMPORT did *NOT* work this way previously..

Can anyone confirm this bug?

thanks

aj

This should do it:
cd ~/sqllib/bnd
db2 connect to <dbname>
db2 bind @db2ubind.lst
db2 terminate

Thangs Serge. I was beginning to think I was losing what
little is left of my mind.

I'm a former Informix DBA and I don't really completely
yet understand all of the DB2 package/bind stuff.

I can rebind @db2ubind.lst or any other .lst anytime I
like without hurting anything, correct? And this also
applies to individual .bnd files, yes?

In this case, I restored a v7 DB into a v8 instance, so
I guess if a DB migrate occurs, you should always rebind
packages afterwards..

AJ,

I'm far from an expert on packages.
But yes, you want to rebind.
Also you can rebind the db2 provided packages as you wish.
Things are getting interesting if you start changing the bind-options

Make sure that you follow the instructions provided with each
fixpack. _Every_ fixpack has a step to rebind the db2ubind and
db2cli packages.
This applies to the V8 migration as well (documented in the
Quick Beginnings guide).
