Using DB2 with Visual C++

I am sorry but this is probably frequently asked.
I'd like to write an application in VisualC++ 2003 .NET, in which a
database is created (if it does not exists) and then some tables are
created and manipulated with embedded SQL.

How do I setup a VISUAL C++ project for this and is there a "hello world"
sample for this?
I took a look in the manuals (I use the free version of 8.1) but that
seems to be complicated and additionally I do not find the samples on my
computer either.

You can download the PDF manuals here:

I would get all the manuals (you can download the FTP directory which you
will see when you select any manual) but obviously you want to look at the
application development ones.

Download the Development Client (free) here, which comes with samples:

However be aware that a database is created with a command (see Command
Reference), and not an SQL statement, so you would have to issue the command
from an operating system command session.
