Event Monitor

Can someone give examples of what activities consume User CPU and
which ones System CPU?

Below is an output from statement monitor:

Where does all the User CPU go ? I see the sort time is just 16
seconds, but CPU time is high? Has the CPU been utilized by IO for the
rows read ?

I will appreciate any help in this regard - to interpret the values.
Start Time: 05-24-2004 18:34:36.111156
Stop Time: 05-24-2004 20:23:39.507116
Exec Time: 594.477708 seconds
Number of Agents created: 11
User CPU: 424.400000 seconds
System CPU: 160.260000 seconds
Fetch Count: 0
Sorts: 25
Total sort time: 16.340000
Sort overflows: 6
Rows read: 1682554411
Rows written: 0
Internal rows deleted: 0
Internal rows updated: 0
Internal rows inserted: 0

TIA

I certainly am no expert in this. But user CPU includes DB2 codepath.
System CPU is Kernel time only (i.e. whenever DB2 invokes an OS function).
When I look at CPU I always sum the two up.
No point for a mere mortal like I to distinguish between the two ;-)

Cheers
Serge
