I have db2 workgroup server 8.1 and I need to download fixpaks -- I
find that there are 2 kinds of fixpaks available, 32 bit and 64 bit.
How do I know which one I need? Is it better to go with the 32 bit?
You need the 32-bit fixpack. Windows 2000 Server is a 32-bit OS, so
you can't run 64-bit.
Also how do I find out how many bits the workgroup server 8.1
application itself is, without the fixpak? Thank you very much for
some light on this confusing subject. I have windows 2000 server and
windows xp for clients.
In a DB2 Command Window, you can issue the command 'db2level', which
will give you the information:
DB21085I Instance "DB2" uses "32" bits and DB2 code release "SQL08015"
with level identifier "02060106".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.5.449", "s040212", "WR21334", and FixPak
"5".
Product is installed at "D:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB".
