db2uext2.exe not work with db2 database

geo
hi,

we have a problem with the db2uext2.exe under W2000 SP4 and DB2 V8 FP
4a.
We copy the sample db2uext.cdisk to db2uext.c, compiled it with
Microsoft Visual C++ Toolkit 2003 without errors.
After that we test the db2uext2.exe file like this:
D:\install\db2uext2> db2uext2.exe -RQARCHIVE -DBESN04P2 -NNNODE0000
-LPE:\DESN04P2\NODE0000\SQL00001\SQLOGDIR\ -LNS0000001.LOG
-> the result was copy 1 files. Okay.

So we think it is correct and copied the db2uext2.exe to sqllib\bin
directory
and set logretain on and userexit on in the database.
After that, we try to archive a log with following command:
db2 archive log for db ESN04P1
the command ends successfully but there are no files in the archive
directory and nothing in the ARCHIVE.LOG or USEREXIT.ERR.

Can anybody help us?

Regards
Geo

Did you actually have some operations that caused logs to be written? If
nothing is logged, then you can't archive anything.

yes, i have import many tables and there are many logs in the logdir.
In the windows taskmanager,db2uext2.exe is running, but no logs were
copied and no userexit.err was written.

Hi,
I have the same problem, did you ever figure yours out? after you let db2
try and run it on its interval, did u search for archive.log? After mine
did not work I searched for it. I found it at the root of the drive I was
saving off to, but I had it configured two folders deep, not the root
level. When I opened it, for some reason the userexit program was trying
to save it to (in my case) J:DB2BackupOnLineArchiveLogs but I have it
defined as J:\DB2Backup\OnLineArchiveLogs\ and I even tried
J:\\DB2Backup\OnLineArchiveLogs\\
I also get some warnings during the compile, but no errors. Hope that
helps you.
Thats pretty wierd, uh?
