how do I configure DB2 Connect for the port?

Tom
I've done this before, but apparently I didn't keep my notes..

I have DB2 Personal Edition on my Windows XP box to talk to our DB2
database on our AS/400. This HAS been working fine. Until this
morning, that is. It was working Friday afternoon, and this morning,
it was broken. It was giving me some error message about an invalid
license file. So I uninstalled it (FP 4a) and have installed FP 5.

When using the Configuration Assistant to set up the db, it asks for
the port number. It's coming up as 446. I believe because in my
"services" file on my PC, I have an entry for "DB2COMM" on port 446.
(BUT I have a faint recollection of the port number being 630, when I
did this the last time.)

I don't know how to look on the AS/400 to check and see what port DB2
is using. The guys here don't know either. (The last time I did
this, I was fortunate enough to be able to ask an IBM guy who had come
to upgrade some other software. In just a couple minutes he had my
answer.) I remember something about "DRDA".

Apparently the AS/400 is not set up for discovery, as this method
never finds anything. Only me telling Connect what the port number
is, is what works.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

On the AS/400, use the WRKRDBDIRE command to get a list of configured
RDBs. Locate the RDB entry in the list with *LOCAL remote location and
use option 5 (Display). If the remote location type is *IP, the port
number should be shown. If the port shown is *DRDA, it is using 446.
