Details

Two questions:

Just downloaded and applied fixpak5 for db2 V8 for Windows.

Is it inclusive from the initial release of V8? Is there a policy
regarding fixpaks and whether they are inclusive? If they are not,
how does one know?

Also,

Is there a central index of all IBM sites which gives exactly what's
where in excruciating detail?

I've searched for something specific many times in frustration only to
be told later, "Oh, that's at abc site." The little search box does
not work, or cannot take enough parameters to make it useful.

Fixpacks are generally (almost always) cumulative. The only exceptions
are periodically when a new release level within a version comes out. An
example is DB2 UDB v7.2, which corresponded to fixpack 3 of V7. Then,
fixpack 3 became a prereq for any subsequent V7 fixpack. This is usually
documented in the fixpack readmes, from what I remember.

Can't help you with the other question. There are so many IBM websites
that it's difficult to know where to go for what. The best thing to do
is to select a subset of sites that covers your specialty areas and
bookmark them. If you are looking for something in particular, post the
subjects or topics and if I know where to direct you, I'd be happy to do
so.

Yes, the fixpaks are inclusive.

If you only want to search one site, search here:

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoce...help/index.jsp

It has the fastest search of all IBM sites, and talks about major
fixpaks under Release Information.

Otherwise, search on Google: google has indexes most DB2 content.
