Creating a DB2 7 FP 11 Installation CD

Hi all,

we install a DB2 version about two or three times a month at a new customer
site. Installing the FixPacks is time consuming.

Windows 2000 or Windows XP or Windows 2003
DB2 Version 7.0 Server

What I would like to do is, create an installation CD that has FixPack 3 and
FixPack 11 preinstalled so that we do not have to install version 7.0, then
FixPack 3, then FixPack 11 at each customer site. We would only have to
install DB2 once, not three times. Is this possible? And if yes, any tips
how to do this.

Regards

I think you mean "7.1" - IBM doesn't offer ".0" releases anymore as far
as I'm aware.

To get this done in a single install with v7, you would need to ask IBM
for an image with the fixpak pre-applied.

To simplify only a bit, you could start with 7.2 and then apply FP11.
That reduces the work by one fixpak.

BTW, you would not have this extra step for DB2 Windows v8 fixpak 3 or
later, as we now ship full install images for fixpaks there.
