Here is it
Email Notification Setup
Db2 Server Setup:
a.. Change the SMTP Server address in DAS configuration file.
a.. Ie update admin cfg using smtp_server mail.marlabs.com
b.. Restart the admin server
Client Setup (Example for email notification):
Launch the Task Center from Control center. Then follow the steps to send
email notification:
· Go To Tool->contacts - use that dialog to add contact email address
· Go To Task menu-> New Task
· In Task Tab:
o Name: New Backup
o Task Category: Backup
o Runsystem: system name
o Db2instance: Db2
· In the command script Tab:
o BACKUP DATABASE TEST TO "C:\ backup" WITH 2 BUFFERS BUFFER 1024
PARALLELISM 1 WITHOUT PROMPTING;
· In the Schedule Tab:
o Start Date: January 28, 2004
o Start Time: 16:10:12
o Note: Use add Button to it to list of schedules
o Don't forget enter proper authorization id and password to run
o Check Enable Scheduling check box
· In the Notification tab:
o Specify notification condition: task success or failure or any
o Type : Notify Contacts
o Contact: Select contact person email address
o Message: You can edit message by clicking edit button
o Note: Click Add button to add it to notification list
· Once everything is done, click ok
· Now your task will run at appropriate time and email notification
will be send to the person in the contact list
