SQL1220N The database manager shared memory set cannot be allocated.

Hello everybody!

We get the SQL1220N-mesage when we start the dbm in version 8.1 (I
think) on SUSE Linux 8. All worked fine for about some weeks but after
a reboot of the machine we could not start the dbm any more.

The crasy thing is, that all memory things are looking good, and I
have done all hints I read here or in the docs (checking memory,
setting msgmni to 1024, decreasing parameters like maxagents and so
on).

Any ideas are appreciated because without the dbm we are a litte bit
lost :)

Thanks,
Lara

Hello again,

I will answer my own question because we found the solution and
perhaps someone else is interested in it:

The file ~/sqllib/.ftok has been moved by someone. Moving it back
solves the problem.
