is there something similar to Oracl'es metalink for DB2

I come from Oracle background and learning DB2 on OS/390 and also on
Windows.
Oracle has something called mtea-links which has a very good web-based
knowledge base of articles, news group discussion etc on various
topics of Oracle. Generally, when one learns from manuals or books, it
takes quite a while. Knowledge ebases like Metalink are very useful
in speeding the learning process because one can acess numerous
discussion, writeups etc.

I know there are DB2 news grpup like present one, but I have not found
anything like Oracle's metalink.

Try this for starters. The bugs are listed in APAR section on the left.
Other information such as downloadable manuals in PDF format and technotes
are also available on the left side of the web page. Don't forget about the
Redbooks (see below). Redbooks are how-to guides about all IBM products and
there are many on DB2.

If you don't have a license, do NOT select the DB2 V8 Information Center on
the product manual page. Instead, scroll down the screen for the PDF
manuals.

Huh? What does having a license have to do with using the online
information center?

Using the online information center from an internet connection is fine, but
many people try to download it from Passport Advantage and then complain
when it doesn't work. I think in the long term most people prefer the PDF
versions of the manuals to download (IMO).

None of these are equivalent to the Oracle site originally noted. Is
there no place that has complete version by version documentation
front-ended with a good search engine?

Why do you insult someone that spent more than 15 years working
with nothing but IBM and Amdahl technologies? What is it that
makes some of the DB2 crowd so insecure? Inquiring minds want
to know.

I am not insecure, but I have followed your posts for a while and you are

Thanks a lot to all of you. This is what I was looking for.

Inquiring minds have discovered that there are some people who rarely if
ever miss an opportunity to get in the Newsgroup and go:
gnan,gnan,gnan,....gnan,gnan
What is written is generally useless and critical. If it was useful and
critical, then.. but unfortuantely it is not.
Obviously if there had been and equivalent to Oracle's Metalink the 3 or 4
people who responded or someonelese would have identified it.
You do act like a troll. You do know that there is no such site, if you
have been that long working with IBM and with the time you have already
spent in this group. If you know, why do you ask??? And please do not try
to insult our and your intelligence by pretending you don't know if such a
site exist. We might use DB2 but we aren't dumb!!

I don't know how my return address displays because of spam but I will send
it toy you if you have difficulty replying to me.

Regards, Pierre.
