Strange JDBC error when retrieving data

P: n/a
Can anyone help me.
I'm trying to retrieve data from DB2/AIX v8.1 using JDBC connectivity
(Universal Driver - Type 4 - v1.1.67) . I get a recurrent error (after
connection, apparently) :

[ibm][db2][jcc] BEGIN TRACE_DIAGNOSTICS

at com.ibm.db2.jcc.a.b.<init>(b.java:207)
at com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver.connect(DB2Driver.java:2 44)

This error is undocumented. Did anyone had this problem before ?
Thanks

The fourth line of the diagnostics - "Unicode string can't convert to ebcdic
string" - seems pretty strange. Is AIX using EBCDIC these days? I thought
only mainframes used EBCDIC. Or is your program running on AIX but accessing
data on a mainframe?

There is mainframe involved in this query (unless I messed completly with
the URLs)
I know that in DB2/AIX there should be no EBCDIC involved ...
.... but when you look the traces of the driver (even running queries to an
DB2/NT), you see traces of the packets translated into ASCII & EBCDIC. I
wonder if there is some kind of use of EBCDIC within the driver itself.
Thanks,
