What is UOW Waiting in DB2 LIST APPLICATIONS?

Ted

In doing a db2 list applications show detail, I have 320 entries
applications. Of those sometimes all of them are "UOW Waiting."
Ususally there are from 1 to 4 marked UOW Executing. The rest are
still waiting.

What is meant by "waiting"? We have set TCPCOMMMGR to 4 (16 CPUs). We
have increased IOCLEANERS and IOSERVERS, which had been set to low.
Still the "waiting".

Thanks in advance,
Ted

This means that the application is idle (at least as far as the
database is concerned), and is not actively doing any work in the
database.

Good luck,

Chances are the programs/queries being executed do not have a terminate
statement.

Ted,

Not sure if your EEE, but...

One thing that can be confusing about list applications, is that by
defalut it will report the app status on the node where the snapshot was
taken. For EEE, this may not represent the 'overall' status of the app
(the app may be active on other nodes, if the snapshot is not taken at
the application coordinator node). You can use a 'db2 list applications
global' to get back the 'overall' status of the app.
