hi,
i know that db2 7.2 ee should not work on redhat 9 server because of
the glibc2 threading problem.
but i have 2 identical smp servers, the first one i (think) i had
installed rh 7.2 first, then installed on it db2 7.2 (fp7) and
afterwards upgraded the rh 7.2 to redhat 9 with latest kernel
(2.4.20-20.9smp).
that db 7.2 installation is working great with no errors (without
setting the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 variable).
now i have my 2nd (identical) server, but there i began with an
install of rh9 from scratch, and now i want to install db2 7.2 on it.
i can install with db2_install script, all the rpm's are installed
correctly and then fixpack 7 also installed ok.
but when i try now to create the instance and the das it get's the
relocation error with the libdb2.so.1.........
now when i compare all my libraries in /usr/IBMdb2/V7.1/lib of the 2
machines, all files and symlinks are the same size, so has anyone a
clue why or how i can get it working on my second server with rh9?
regards, wolf
