db2set problem - DBI1360N

g
Hi,

I'm trying to setup the DB2 client to work with LDAP but as soon as I type
the 'db2set' command with no parameters I get this error msg:

-sh-2.05b$ db2set
DBI1306N The instance profile is not defined.

Explanation: The instance is not defined in the target machine
registry.

User Response: Specify an existing instance name or create the
required instance.

-sh-2.05b$

What is the instance profile? Where should it be defined?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

On the client machine, you will still create an instance, where you
define the remote databases. This instance will have a file called
'db2profile' that will be sourced in your .profile to set up the
DB2 environment properly.
