i am using db2 udb v8.1 on win 64 bit, i found this on my db2diag.log

what does that mean? do i need to do anything? thanks

Hello,
I faced the same problem some days ago. The PCKCACHESZ is set in
relation to MAXAPPLS but in DB2 V8 MAXAPPLS is set by default to
automatic. My experience is that this doesn't work. So just set the
MAXAPPLS to a fixed value e.g. 100 and then the error should not occur
again.
Another reason could be the connectivity you are using e.g. JDBC. In
case of JDBC the number of bound JDBC-packages could also be a reason
of the error.
But first try the MAXAPPLS.
