Second instance in local node

I have created a second instance on the local node.
In that instance I have created a database. So far so good.
But when I click on that newly displayed database,
it just sits there spinning its cute little cogs.
I'm using UDB 8.1 Control Center on W2K and have no clue
what may be wrong. Any hints appreciated !
TIA
Chris
