Local copy of DB2 information center

Hello,

publib.boulder. ibm.com has been rather unstable lately, so I figured I
should install a local copy of the documentation web pages.

I grabbed the Windows-version of the offline version of "DB2 9
Documentation" from
https://www14.software.ibm.com/webap...swg-dm-db2doce

After having downloaded ½ a gigabyte of data, it turns out that the
offline copy needs to be installed with administrator privileges. Great,
IBM...

Does anyone know of an offline version of the DB2 information center which
just consists of flat HTML pages, so that they may be browsed from the
local file system without installation? - Or do I need to "wget -r" from
publib.boulder. ibm.com?

Administrator priveleges are required to install and set up the DB2
Information Center daemon, which runs at system startup. The
Information Center daemon is the process that allows Information
Center pages to be served up to Web browsers.

We're looking into whether we can provide a work around. Technically,
it's not difficult. It involves manually copying the help system code
and content plugins to a directory on your computer, and then running
a script to start the Information Center. However, the files on the
Information Center installation image can only be read by the setup
program; they can't be easily extracted from the installation image.
Also, copying files from the publib.boulder. ibm.com server won't
work, since you'd ONLY get the content plugins themselves; without the
help system code, you wouldn't be able to easily view the content.

We are looking at whether we can provide the necessary files on an FTP
site. There are also some licensing issues relating to the
distribution of the open source elements within the help system that
we'd need to resolve before we can make this happen. We'll post an
update here as soon as we have something we can share.

We have a situation where we have decided (in an attempt to keep things simple) to stick to local assemblies rather than global ones. However we now have the following situation looming AssyA depends on AssyB depends on AssyD version 1 AssyA depends on AssyC depends on AssyD version 2 Obviously we cannot copy both versions of AssyD to the AssyA's bin directory. Is the only sensible way around this (rather than going the GAC route)...

I have been told that the only way to develop an ASP.NET application is to do it on the localhost, and then just copy the files out to the web server that will be hosting. Is this true? Scenario: Our network folks don't want us installing IIS on all of our machines. ASP.NET requires IIS to be installed. Does IIS need to be on the developing machine? We are currently getting the error "Visual Studio .NET has detected

Another complaint I would like to see corrected. The Information Center tool is now pretty much useless to me. Does anyone else besides me remember when information center had a troubleshooting tab that had all of the messages that may appear as well as SQL error messages. The Tasks tab also used to have many more useful catergories. Please stop changing things that are not broke. Besides Information center, I do not like the look and...

I have a question or two about the Info Center. I'm running DB2 (LUW) Personal (Developer's) Edition Version 8 (FP8) on Windows XP. I just reinstalled DB2 V8 (FP7) and applied FP8 immediately afterwards. During the install process, I said that I wanted to the InfoCenter to be installed on my hard drive (standalone PC) rather than using the default URL to access it via the Internet. However, when I launch the Info Center, it is using the...

All, Not sure where else to go. I have: VS2005, XP SP2 Media Center, IIS5.1 Problem: Apps developed (even simple "Hello WOrld") apps simply won't deploy properly to either my local IIS instance or to a 2nd server W2003K server. When I publish, create them as IIS apps, or copy, even after running both/either the ASP2.) security tab or the web admin (asp based) manager they will not enable properly.

(New to SQL Server Installs) I installed SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition on a WinXP-SP2 workstation and can see some enterprise databases on the network just fine. My problem is I cannot register a local database on the local drive for testing/education purposes. (I accepted all of the defaults on the install and thought all was well.)

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
