Local database requiring userid/password

I have an annoying problem on a particular server.

DB2 V8 FP12 on Windows 2003.

The database is catalogued on a local drive. From the CLI a connect to
the database without the userid/password works fine. When connecting
to the database from CC or Health Monitor (view utility status), the
userid/password is prompted. A second database (TOOLSDB) in the same
instance does not have this problem.

This messes up Automatic Maintenance. The db2fmp process is getting
connection errors.

I have tried uncatalog/recatalguing the database.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Norm

Found the problem! The database is accessed through a local
application using ODBC. Another user had accessed the MS Data Sources
(ODBC). While testing local connectivity to the database through ODBC,
the UID was left in the DB2CLI.INI.

I guess the JDBC driver used by all the DB2 Tools was connecting using
this alias and saw the UID field. This caused the password to be
prompted, but none of the Tools are able to respond resulting in
numerous connection error messages in db2diag.log.

Solution: remove UID from db2cli.ini

We are trying to use untyped reports in a C# application. Since the reports are being written by a third party the connection information needs changed at runtime. It will always be a ODBC SQL server database. I tried using a function from Chapter17 of Brian Bischof's book "Crystal Reports .NET Programming", however it does not work. What am I missing? private void LogonToDatabase(CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument...

I'm not sure if this is possible. I would like to have a PHP app on the Internet connect and write to a local database (Intranet). For example, users would go to a web site http://www.internet.com to run the app. The app requires an internet connection and is outside of the user's network. The app would have the option to either store data locally or on the Internet. I would like to give users the option to store data locally because...

Hi, I have copied a MS SQL database to my local machine and am testing it with ASP pages, locally, on IIS. I have a db connect page that keeps the current connections for the live database. My question is, as the local db is named 'local,' is there another name I need to give it and thus call from the connection page? Also, when copying a db, are the permissions (username and pass) copied over with it? Thanks,

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
