Dear Experts,

I would like to invite you to take part of my survey to share your
expertise on the storage usage for enterprise applications.

This is an educational survey for non-profit purposes, and it will be a
part of my Master's dissertation. The following survey contains 14
questions, and would take around 5-10 minutes to complete:

I greatly appreciate for your precious sharing and in return I will
happily be your tour guide when you visit the "Global City", Singapore.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Tran,
Singapore.

We are writing a web based application which primarily will serve information to run an ivr. Based on our current IVR getting 1000000 hits a week, this is going to be heavy duty. We have very little time, we have data retrieval classes and a struts based MVC. I'm contemplating a CallManager to hold call variables critical for tracking and writing. Since there are sever small tables it reads from, I am loading those into memory with a...

This is one of the topics which I find interesting as I feel that it has a lot of practical usage or applicability. We all know that all applications need some storage space to archive certain

I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the following issues once Ajax is incorporated into a page: Now that we have this Ajax stuff, users have the potential to not leave a page for a long time. My knowledge of browser memory handling is limited, but I spoke with a Microsoft engineer who told me that IE has a very naive mark and sweep GC algorithm, which gets invoked when a page gets reloaded. If the GC is not invoked until a...

Hello All, On all of my SQL servers (2000 with SP3), when I go to task manager and look at memory usage, sqlservr.exe is always at 1.7gigs. If I reduce the maximum to let's say 1 gig it will go down to 1 gig. But if it is even at 2gigs or 3 gigs it will be showing 1.7 gigs. Why? Is is ok to reduce the memory usage of sqlservr.exe? Raziq.

Hello, MSDN (amongst other places) is full of helpful advice on ways to do data access, but they all seem geared to wards enterprise applications. Maybe I'm in a minority, but I don't have those sorts of clients. Mine are all small businesses whose sites will never reach those sorts of scales. I deal with businesses whose sites get maybe a few hundred visitors per day (some not even that much) and get no more than ten orders per day....

Greetings. I need to convert some columns of type numeric(12, 0) to hold floating point information scale and precision I can't determine in advance (customer data can vary wildly) so I wanted to use the datatype that offers the maximum scale and precision.. I'm targeting sql server 2005 systems (not 2000). It seems my choices are real and float, and the docs seem to indicate that

I have googled by heart out trying to find answers to this and am only more confused. DB Server: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise 4 GB memory SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, SP4 8.00.2039 The SQL server process appears to be using a steady 1.7 gb of memory. There are no other memory intensive applications running on this

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
