Problem with Backup/Restore with Vendore Products

now we have some troubles with restoring a db with the vendor apis of
the backup and restore utility.
We upgraded from db2 version 7 to version 8.2 (windows 2000
We recompiled the sources (without the need of any changes) and after
that we get the sqlcode -2570 if we try to restore.
The vendor utility is written in C. The process of restore stops after
the first retrieval of data (4096 bytes). This data looks the same as
the block we received during backup.
The trick for starting the debugger also does not work any more, which
makes it not easier...

Hi all, I've just converted the tables in a big database (approx 27 million records) from MyISAM to InnoDB. When I was using MyISAM I backed up the database by stopping MySQL and then copying the MYI, MYD, frm files in the database directory, and restored the database in the same way. Is there a similar way to backup and restore InnoDB tables, or do I have to use the InnoDB Hot Backup tool?

I've a program with VB6 working with SQLServer 2000. I have a Central Station with the program runnin with full prvileges and that can perform all the actions on the DB. Our HP representatives are telling us that backing/restoring our MS SQL Servers with "HP Data Protector (HPDP)" is better and safer than using MS Sql's backup/restore process. I have strong hesitations, because MS Sql's processes gives us a great deal of flexability. Has anyone have any experience wsith "HP Data Protector (HPDP)"?

I have no experience with DB2 as such, but I've been tasked with configuring backup of a server running DB2 v8 on Windows Server 2003. I do have some experience with backups in general though. The backup software I'll be using is Backup Exec 10, but Backup Exec doesn't have a specific agent for DB2, as it does for SQL and Oracle. The supplier of Backup Exec claims I can use the Open File option of Backup Exec to backup DB2. I find this a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
