with UR is not recognised in DB2

Hi All,

We are using DB2 UDB version 7 as the database for our project. This is
installed on windows environment. The actual prod environment is DB2 on
mainframe.

When we execute simple select queries on our local database with
"with ur" (Uncommitted read isolation level) option we are getting
the following error message.

db2 => select * from altn_type_mstr with ur

SQL0104N An unexpected token "ur" was found following "altn_type_ mstr
with".Expected tokens may include: "END-OF-STATEMENT". SQLSTATE=42601

DB2 is not able to recognize with ur option at all.

The same statement is running fine on prod environment.

I think we have missed something while installing or configuring the
server or the database. Can any one help us in resolving this issue?

Thanks in advance.

yes, you missed upgrading to V8 (may be V7.2 is enough, I don't
remember). What are you doing on V7 anyway with this dev system?

Cheers

V7.2 did support it according to the SQL Reference.

No, no brackets/parenthesis are needed. Apparently the functionality is
simply not there. But that's hard to tell because the OP didn't give us
any information which version and fixpak he is using (besides V7, that is).

What I thought was a string value does not seem to be recognised as such. In the following code I extract the string "foo" from an array and put it into the variable up0 But on checking I find that (up0=="foo") returns false.
