QADBXREF authority - aliases creation

Hi all,

I have an issue with QSYS\QADBXREF file - it keeps aliases on tables.
I take care of an application that works on many places (servers) and
on one of them it's not possible to create alias. I've checked the
authority of QADBXREF file on this 'problematic' machine and it's as

Object ----------Data--------- --------Object---------
User Group Authority Read Add Upd. Del. Exec. Opr Mgt Exist Alter Ref
On all the other machines (there is no problem to create aliases and
then to use them) it's:

Object ----------Data--------- --------Object---------
User Group Authority Read Add Upd. Del. Exec. Opr Mgt Exist Alter Ref

My questions are:
1. How to enable aliases creation?
2. Are there any SQL setting on AS400 that enable/disable aliases?

On IBM sites I found a note that QADBXREF file is one of the files
that are always opened so there is no possibility to change the

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

With command-line interface ( 3.23.37, UNIX Socket ) all is well with column aliasing. However, column aliases disappear in Excel, over ODBC, when there are multiple (joined) tables in the query. I run the following query with aliased columns with CLI: select table1.c1 as 'pet category', table1.c2 as 'item', table1.c3 as 'quantity', table2.c2 as 'attendant' from table1 left outer join table2 on (table1.c1=table2.c1);...

Anyone have the same problem? How do I fix this?

Hi there, Anyone know of a webhost that provides an API that allows the website code to automate the domain/subdomain/alias/email account creation? The website we are looking to run generates HTML for it's users, and needs to be able to create and assign these domains/subdomains/aliases programatically, rather than clicking on a control panel interface. Any ideas would be very much appreciated,

i have a python program which attempts to call 'cls' but fails: sh: line 1: cls: command not found i tried creating an alias from cls to clear in .profile, .cshrc, and /etc/profile, but none of these options seem to work. my conclusion is that a python program that is executing does not use the shell (because it does not recognize shell aliases). is this correct?

Recently, we had a very heated thread about GC with the usual arguments (for, cons, etc) being exchanged. In one of those threads, we came into the realloc problem. What is the realloc problem? Well, it begins with a successfull realloc: char *q = realloc(p,2*n); // for n size_t, a simple

Is it still common practice to use type aliases (INT, PCHAR etc). It looks ugly and breaks the syntax highlighting, are there any advantages these days (MSVC++6.0 and later)? I could understand it, maybe, back in the days when some compilers had 16 bit ints. Also, if your products is heavily dependent on a 3rd party library which just uses the raw types, does the aliasing help in any way at all?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
