Transferring ODBC Connections from one PC to another

Does anyone have a checklist of the files/operations that are needed
to clone the DB2 ODBC connections that are one one desktop system to
another?

I did this successfully a while ago with another desktop but the
latest one blows up when I attempt to establish a connection through
DBArtisan.

What I did was:
1) ensure that the sqlnodir and sqlnobak diretories exist and are
populated with my files
2) copied the Registry entries for DBArtisan's settings to the DB2
servers
3) copied the Registry entries for ODBC connections to the DB2 servers

I found that I had to modify the HKEY_LOCAL_MACH INE entries for
DBArtisan to HKEY_CURRENT_US ER before DBArtisan would pick them up.

When Rob gets back, I'll try modifying the ODBC Registry file the same
way.

In the meantime, can anyone think of anything that I need to do that I
haven't done already?

You can export all settings with 'db2cfexp' and import them on
another system with 'db2cfimp'.

Using MS Access, I have attached to MySQL servers in other states and other countries on the other side of my router. But when I use the MySQL ODBC driver 3.51 to connect to a MySQL server on my own LAN, the driver tells me it cannot make the connection. Here are the ODBC driver connection parms: Data Source Name: (free field - name my "my linux box" will do nicely) Host/Server Name (or IP) - something like MSQLUserName@ServerName.net...

Everyone, I posted the message below back in February and didn't get any information. I also wasn't able to find any documentation in MS Help, web site, or other groups. I'm posting now with results of my research in case anyone else might need this information. I consulted with my MIS colleague, and he said it would be ok to have each merge file pull the whole database when the criteria screen is opened. His reasoning was that it...

I have an Access 2003 .mde sitting on an SQL Server. The tables for the application also sit on the Server. I'm having a problem with ODBC on only one of about 10 machines. All the other machines using my Access 2003 .mde see the linked tables without a problem. I've configured the User DSN (under Control Panel, Administrative Tools) tab to match what the other machines are set to, but this didn't work. I keep getting an error message...

Hello All- We are in the process of converting the back end of our large MS Access application to PostgreSQL. My question today concerns linked tables and how their connections are managed by Access. It appears that Access does a *lot* of connecting and disconnecting to these linked tables. This is causing me a major headache, as I'd really like to store some session-based information in the back end that can be referenced by the linked...

We have spent days trying to perform a proof of concept and I am dissappointed with SSIS to say the least. We are trying to connect and fetch data from a Double Byte Progress database and the "DataReader Source" using a ADO .NET ODBC provider does not work! I understand that SSIS is a totally rewritten version of DTS. What annoys me is that this functionality used to work in DTS and does not in the much talked about SSIS!! Will someone in...

I'm trying to export a table to an ODBC database using a VBA subroutine. I have tested the ODBC setup manually and it works fine but when I try to do it with VBA, I get a "connection failed" error. This is the code I'm using. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it? DoCmd.TransferDatabase acExport, "ODBC Database", "ODBC;DSN=*****;UID=*****;LANGUAGE=us_english;" & "DATABASE=*****", acTable, "Test", "Test" Thanks in advance.

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
