How to build your own computer? Intel or AMD?

I'm trying to build my own computer but im not to sure what processor to buy, I have heard intel are good but it is very expensive respected to other processors. Not only that about the intel motherboards are also very expensive..

How about the AMD processor and Gigabyte motherboards?

How do i compare intel and AMD..?

The speed of the processor should be listed in the products page. Have you tried to find either products page?

I would recommend building a computer through one of two ways. The easy way is to get on HP.com or something and see what their recommended base configurations are so you can see what's out there currently, then use those speeds as a guideline to build your parts configuration.

The second way would be to write down everything you do with your computer over the course of a week and see where your performance needs are. Then you can go to intel.com or amd.com and start looking through processors - researching what the speeds mean, cache levels, etc... From there you can look for a motherboard/powersupply/etc... that are all compatible with each other.
