how to replace my hard drive on an old mac?

I'm not positive I need to replace it, but that is my best conclusion. Here's how I came to that idea do you agree?

I was unable to upgrade the computer to the new flash plugin. It wouldn't work or anything else I tried to download either. There would always be some sort of error.

I tried re-installing OS X but couldn't get past the "reinstall" button without getting a black screen that said it couldn't find the platform to install on.

So this old hard drive is 10gb. I have a 100gb drive in there too that I've used for storage, but is there a way to get the computer to run on the newer larger drive - hoping this would wipe out all my problems??

Thanks in advance!
