How much is 10-12 K rupees in American dollars?

I would suggest looking into getting a Dell. Are you looking for a laptop or desktop?

Don't buying one from MadTux. Just in case you were tempted by the cheap price. Mine only works gor a few minutes before overheating. MadTux wanted me to give them more money to get a replacement but it risky.

Dude, just get two similar machines at a garage sale or something. Then load the RAM and HD from one into the other.

You'll have a machine that has the same RAM speed (though not processor), and same HD space. The CPU difference isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be, as long as you don't get like a Pentium or PII.

Functional, cheap, and then if you screw it up, you don't have to worry.
