change nl to <br>

Hi,

I have never written CF in my life, but I have to make a small change to a CF project (written by someone else of course).
The CF app writes text away in the db, but the line breaks dont work in HTML, so I need to find an similar function of PHP's nl2br().
I tryed (as posted earlier on this forum) to replace the CF line break char with '<br>' this way :
<cfset #text# = replace(#session.uploadFile#,'#Chr(10)##Chr(13)#', '<br>',all)>
But this doesnt seem to do the trick.
Suggestions ? Anyone ?

Thanks & greets !

Welcome to TSDN!

Try:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <cfset text = replace(#session.uploadFile#,'#Chr(10)##Chr(13)#','<br>',"All")>

Sorry that should be:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <cfset text = replace(session.uploadFile,'#Chr(10)##Chr(13)#','<br>',"All")>
If that still doesn't work, what does session.uploadFile contain?
