You will know once you study them.

The idea behind learning the languages is to get you more involved from a technical standpoint. The GUI(mouse/keyboard) is a great tool for <u>users</u>whereas the languages, can help you with solving more specific problems. They get you thinking about the processes that happen behind the scenes when you perform any action on a computer.

In the workplace, many computer careers require a little bit of programming. Networking, Information Technology, Web Design ... just about all of them.
It's not that big of a deal to learn other languages once you know how those 3 work. They are all relatively similar in structure.

For most people learning a computer language makes them feel like they are taking a step backward ...

java and c++ are use in different field of computer.
using java and c++ to create software, to make some things easy.
Java is not just a language but you can see it as a technology...

u use java on the web.. on desktops.. in mobile phones.. PDAs... embedded systems etc...

java provides a great deal of flexibility while choosing a platform.. a code developed in java for a web application can be reused for a mobile application( No jokes intended) java is far more secure, safe and robust than .net. Though programming in .net may seem a little easy with drag and drop facilities but i find java more easier you can simplify development in java using IDEs like net beans etc.
Many companies have made a decision to use Java as the language for their software development. As the first interactive language for the Web content, Java got a good head-start, resulting in a good base of experience and skills among programmers. With Sun Microsystems' committment to Java, it looks like Java is a good choice for Internet content development

Even though Sun Microsystems has been bought by Oracle, Java as a language and a platform will continue to grow and be supported. Sun was not and is not the only company supporting and promoting the Java language. <link removd>

Although I have never used C since I learned it years ago it has proven invaluable. The principals and rules I learned are something I've been able to apply to any other language I have tackled.

One of the reasons colleges use base languages like C, C++ and Java is for this very reason. If you understand the fundamentals of programming that learning these languages give you then you can apply them to most other languages out there. Don't forget that a lot of languages, even today, are still based on C. There is no greater foundation for a programmer in my opinion.
