Certification(s) on top of CS Degree?

Hey guys,

I am currently studying in computer science at UofT and sadly due to financial reasons will not be able to partake in the next semester of classes. I do not wish to waste my time nor have a very difficult time finding a job after graduating (or during studies). So I was wondering if you guys could recommend any courses/certificates/book that will help in securing a job?

I would say my knowledge is intermediate in Java, HTML, PHP, MySql, and Python. Those are all that I know. Please do not shut me down I only spent my time modding and not coding as much. I don't count website building cause its not really programming.

Any help is greatly appreciated in advance!

Hey,

The best thing that I can think of is not so much in certifications but more in experience. With the technologies you know you could very easily work on some web development (Not websites but web applications) and with a little bit of research you could make the transition to mobile as well.

I recommend creating a github account and put all of your personal projects onto it. You can also freelance and build a resume that way. With that kind of experience that you can show to potential employers, getting a job would be much easier.

You can also take some courses on here https://www.udacity.com to strengthen your knowledge.

Good luck!
