What is the role of C++ today and how widely C++ is used for game development?

I want to know current application areas of C++ in the companies and how should I move further if having a good programming experience in C++. Should I start learning game development or something else?

You want to find an application area you will enjoy working at and then learning the programming for that application area.

C++ is usually used for libraries and frameworks which are used by the application developers. A computer science degree will help.

Hi Vipulsh,

The best way to understand applications is to explore it in a real time world.

Simple.... You just visit a Newspaper/Game Developing company in or around the area, which you can afford to(with recommendations)... and ask a supervisor about the practical field you are searching for.

Using this experience, try creating your own program from the scratch..
These topics may help you:
1.A cash counter service in a supermarket
2.An online airplane service & booking

Hope this helps you,
Thank You.
