not able get the core dump

I am using the GDB to debug the crashing application on Linux having kernel 2.6.27.39
I have enabled the "ulimit -c unlimted" for getting core dump.
But while my application crashes I am not able get the core-dump while running that application with GDB.

Can any one kindly point out the issue?
