You might consider that a checking account, savings account, credit card and a loan are all kinds of bank accounts. Further, any posting to these accounts, whether credits or debits are all kids of transactions.

So you might design around a bank account and a transaction. That way you can use a checking accunt as a bank account and a checking account posting as a transaction.
