How to sync Outlook with database with c++ app?

Hello to Everyone,

I have to extend existing database application. Application is written in C++, DB is Interbase.
I have to sync outlook tasks, callendar and contacts with that db application.
But I have no idea where to start?
What should I do? What protocols can I use? I googled many sites but I am still at the beginning.
I will appreciate any help, any link, info about white papers etc.

Regards,
Maciek

Even though i am not completely sure about what you need..

why not create a new thread that would check database periodically for update....

Maciek,

I would start by looking in the MSDN Outlook Developer Reference. I don't know how or where Outlook stores its data so having an external app try to access it might be difficult. Have you looked at writing a C++ addin for Outlook to sync between Outlook and your database? MSDN has a sample on how to do that.

Yes but there is some restriction. I have to add new fucntionality to existing application. Therefore I cannot make addin in outlook but new function in application.
Or maybe addin can be implemented on application side?
