How to write a FTP Client application in C under linux?

Hi,
Im new to network programming. I dont know how to develop a basic ftp client application in c under linux platform. PLease help me in this... I can write a small socket program through which i can transfer characters between client and server(Local).

So if anyone knows how to build a small ftp client application please send me a mail to : <e-mail address deleted>

If you can open the socket then all you need to do is implement the FTP protocol.

The FTP protocol is available on the web, it is an RFC (RFC 959) with a large number of modifying or additional RFCs for extra functionality.

Wikipedia is a fine place to start since it gives a synopsis and then links to all the required RFCs.
