Function for dynamic allocate two dimensional array in c

Hi!

I was looking a lot about that, but i didn't find any answer so I decided to ask here.

I have a function:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. void allocate(double **m,int n) {
  2.      int i;
  3.      m=(double**)malloc(n*sizeof(double *));
  4.      for(i=0;i<n;i++)
  5.       m[i]=(double*)malloc(n*sizeof(double));
  6. }
  7.
and i want to write some values into the matrix so:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. int main() {
  2. double ** m
  3. allocate(m,3);
  4. m[1][2]=2;             '\* Here I have a segmentation fault
  5.
  6. }
  7.
somebody can help?
thanks!

You never pass the pointer returned by malloc to the calling function.
