can i create a basic data type of my own choice??

if we create a structure or a class of our own choice then within our own defined class/structure we have to use the fundamental types as our data members (e.g if we use an int it would be 4 bytes). Is there a way that we create our very own data type,,for example if I want to create a data type hugeint that would just resemble an int but it would have a memory of 10 byte…is that possible in C or C++???

You can do that and it'll be another class, preferably with some overloaded operators because you want your class to behave as some sort of an integer. Note that creating a 'hugeint' class is far from a trivial exercise but you're lucky, it has been done before; Google is your friend.

kind regards,

Jos
