MS-DOS command prompt work with c

Hi everyone!
It is great to see you guys helping out and let me thank you all first!

I have to write a piece of code using c language, the purpose of the code is to access text files stored in different directories and do some processing. I have been able to work with the text files in a single directory but when i have to change the directory i am not able to do that.
In short what i would like to know that how does one work with MSDOS commands like CD(change directory). The other thing is how to call a c program which takes as input a file name from other program. The first program works like
C:\TFC.exe filename.txt 100 (the exe file is in C drive). Now if i have to call this program from another one how do i do it. Does it takes normal parameter call or something else.

many compilers have the GNU library or similar with the command chdir() to change the working directory

     chdir("testdir");

to execute a program you can use the system() function

    system("C:\\TFC.exe filename.txt 100");
