Debugging C++ files through GDB

Hi All
I am new to GDB in C++.I want to debug C++ files.Just Like I have a project called FDFL in which I am having several files(FDFLConsole.h,FDFLConsole.cpp,FDFLDB.h,FDFLD B.cpp an so on..) and I want to debug a particular method of particular file.How can i do that.
It's ugent.Can any one help me.

i would suggest u to go through the information already available on the net (google it)

but in general, it goes like this -
u compile the file with -g switch in g++

i assume u r generating an executable (and not a daemon process).

start gdb with -
gdb <exe_name>

put the required breakpoint -
gdb> b <namespace>::<class_name>::<method_name>

and then run the program -
gdb> r <cmd line args>


u can use 'n' to execute next line (after gdb hits ur breakpoint), 'p' to print and 'c' to continue
refer to any of the gdb cheat sheets for more info on these commands.
