read in video file, get frames

P: 175
I'm looking for a way to read in a video file ( such as an mpeg file ) using C++ ... basically the idea is to "read in the video" frame by frame, so I can do some manipulation on each frame, search through each frame, ... whatever operations I may need.

I've been searching google and other resources and haven't really found anything that's lead me to anything helpful. If anyone has any tips or can help me out I would appreciate it.

If you want to read the mpeg file frame by frame then you need to know the data format of the mpeg.
Did you search for that in the net?
