specific colour detection from a real time image

i need to detect a specific color from a real time image captured by a
web camera from the distance of 4 to 5 feets

Not able to process the received data?
Not able to compare two colors?
Not able to do it in real-time?
None of these topics are C++ related even if you have to code it in C++.

try OpenCV (http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencv/).
