I need to separate the first sentence from a para - the para could end
with !, . or carriage rtn.

What is the best way to detect the end of first sentence in C lang?

Later I need to do it for first paragraph.

Is the above not a paragraph? It ends with a '?' which wasn't one of
your options, so ??

to be a single sentance:
Mr. Todd E. Jones gave $3000. (!) in nickels, dimes, etc. to his
No. 1 son at 4 7th Ave. N., NY. NY. USA., who exclaimed "What joy!
Now I can buy 3 lbs. of St. Tropiz bananas... or can I?!"
