global variables with the same name in different C files

I declared two global static variables in two different C files, sometimes it can work well , But sometimes it can induce a fatal error. I do wanna konw the reason.The complier is IAR Embedded for msp430.

global static variables will have scope only inside the file where u have declared.
I dont think so that this will cause issues. There may be some other issue
