Botball- Recognizing Color and Claw

Okay, For thsi year's Botball compettition, I am trying to get a sensor/camera recognize certain colors, and when a certain color is recognized, a claw opens/closes to a specific size, and launches the thing.



does anybody have an idea on what i have to begin with coding wise?

It might be useful to know what you have successfully achieved in the past in regards to programming for robotics.
