Malloc Delays

1
Today someone at work told me that, when malloc'ing a large amount of space, malloc can return a valid pointer, while the operating system is still setting up the space.

So, upon accessing the pointer, I could run into problems because the large buffer's not "there yet".

I think he's on glue.

I think this question belongs in the C++/C Section - I'll move it there.
