Hi I know that 0x00 can be used for termination in a string, but what happens when your trying to search for a string of hex that contains 0x00's?

my search sequence string is

static char search_stuff[] = { 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x04, 0x00, 0x03, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x04 };

I cant find this because i think it is termainating straight away? can anyone help me out

You would have to write your own function to search through this. Of course, you have to be very careful - you have to find out exactly how many characters are in the array, and you can't use strlen because you have '\0' characters (that's 0x00) in the array. You can't assume a '\0' character will e at the end, so there's no way to write a function that will keep going until a specified end point...unless you specifically add something to the end - some random character like %.

There are all sorts of little problems you will run into if your character array contains '\0' characters, so the real question is this: Why do you need to have '\0' characters anywhere but the end?
