Look at it this way.
Assume you have a date of three ints. One for month, one for day, and one for year. Let's say they are called Month, Day and Year.
Now let's assume your date variables are used in thousands of places in many programs.
Now your boss wants to change the date to a string mmddyyyyhhmiss.nnnnnn to conform to the CIM standard.
Now you have to install that strings in thousands of places instead of one place.
Does this make sense???
If it does, then you don't need C++.
