Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition -ENU

P: 7
I'm not sure if I am in the right section. If i am not I'm very sorry, but can you guys at least answer my question:

I tried downloading the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition Trial and everytime when its finished and done it says in the end:

Setup could not install the following component:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition -ENU

I have tried everything, i redownloaded it like 20 times already and deleted the other files that has to do with visual C++ 2008 and other files that has to do with visual C+.

Is there any other way to fix this, because I need a C++ compiler for my laptop since ill be away from my computer for a while.

is there anything else in the error? that is a very vague message. If not try installing 2005 and see if it works. Do you have the latest .net framework (i think 3.0 is required maybe even 3.5)? If not update your framework and see if that helps.

I think there's some slight confusion here. Visual C++ 2008 Express is free.

There is however, also a Visual C++ 2008 Trial Edition. The trial edition is huge. The whole 3 GB or whatever. I highly doubt you are redownloading it 20 times. If you have the express edition it is completely free.

XiCookieX, you may get better support on the MSDN forums (just Google for it). You can continue to ask here, but we would be guessing as much as you are. The MS folks probably would know the MS products inside out though.

I have read about the problem in the manual of the express 2008 versions.
Go to the download site and search for language pack. then download it.
Then go to repair program in install and uinstall repair vb.
