Image Applicationi in C

Hi,

i am new here, I have to display a image in C and the file to be displayed as Image is a bin file....well i had the same program done in Tcl but due to optimization switched to C...
Would any body like to Suggest any references or any idea ,If u have come across the same..

C does not have the concept of images. It's library does not have anything to do with images. If you want to display images, you'll have to deal with two issues:

1. Reading the image data. This means you have to be able to interpret the image format. The best way is to find a 3rd party library that will allow you to read such images.

2. Displaying the image. The most you can do in C directly is have console output, as that is pretty much standard to all desktop OS. But to show an image means you need some sort of GUI and display mechanisms. This is platform specific. You'll have to find libraries that will allow you to do this.

I have given an overview of your tasks. If you aren't familiar with C, this will be an enormous task, as you won't understand a thing you are supposed to do.

Hi thanks for ur suggestion..

Is it possible for me to frame the binary data in the file into a array data of pixels?
And u were correct i am using from Tk libraries for that...But i am stuck in forming an array, on which the function can use...

Can me just see the Tk code if it can be achieved in C then suggest me how to go ?
