C Language Question

can any one tell me
why the given below two segments are showing diif output



1)
main()
{
int j=2;
int i=j+++j+++j;
printf("%d %d",i);
}



2)
main()
{
int j=2;
int i;
i=j+++j+++j;
printf("%d %d",i);
}

I'm actually going to give some assistance on this question. If this is an actual homework question, and our OP is a beginner, then this is a very, very, difficult question.

j+++j+++j is the same as (j++) + (j++) + j.

See http://c-faq.com/expr/index.html. Read 3.1 from 3.4. Short answer, j++ causes a side effect, that leads to undefined results in expressions like the above.
